WTRL #132 – Flatland Loop
Course Notes – 3 Laps inc Lead In – 39.2km
One of the longest courses, with even the fast teams taking over 50mins!
Flat early on for each lap, the climbing comes at 6km, 19km and 32km respectively, spread across 3 laps. I say climbing, but other than a short 5% kicker at these points, really the slope is no more than false flat of 1-2%. Each lasting around 5.5km, before a 2km descent at 4-5% average. Try and push the effort each lap and make sure you also push right over the top and onto the downslope before any easing off. It will be hard to get back together due to the speeds on the way down.
