WTRL TTT – Volcano Flat Reverse
Course Notes – 3 Laps – 37.5km
Pretty flat course with only a couple of short inclines of note, where a team member could get gapped if others drive too hard early on. Because this race is so long (over an hour for many), pacing is vital. Don’t start out too fast. Try and build your effort over the course of the 3 laps, keeping the squad together early on but not be afraid to drop riders who are really struggling if others are having to hold back too much.
No need for any significant w/kg agreements, other than perhaps going up the little gravel climb up to the Italian Villas and beyond.
Don’t Forget to try my TTT Time Predictor and Power Planner – complete with DS Call Sheet. Pretty confident in the times this week to about 30s if you race it well and assuming you get through without too much incident. I would suggest 120-125% turns early on, building to potentially shorter turns at 130%
The pace planner will tell every rider what they need to be doing in every position. This event is perfect for practicing those rotations.
